Grands to Grown come about in 2017 after Lloyd and Regina Evans received custody of two of their grandchildren. It didn’t take long to access that there were no resources out there for them to utilize in helping to raise their granddaughters from the federal government. The State only offered TANF and Medicaid. They really had nowhere to turn but to each other. Thus, Grands to Grown was started to pull together resources to help grandparents and kinship (siblings raising siblings) by taking some of the burdens off an already stressful situation.
